Welcome to Psychology!
Welcome to Psychology! Who are we? How do we produce thoughts? Feelings? Actions? How are we to understand and manage those around us? Psychology is the science of behavior and mental processes. This class will ask you to think deeply and critically about the topic, as well as to keep an open mind about what you know, what you think you know, and what you will learn.
As Psychology is a one trimester class, we will only have time to study the major topics and concepts of the science.

- Reading, both inside and outside of class
- Note taking during lectures
- Group discussions
- Group projects
- Classroom discussions
- Written assignments
- Projects
- Unit mastery tests
- Quizzes
- Midterm exam
- Final exam
Classroom Expectations:
- Be respectful of all students and all ideas shared. Listen and comment respectfully.
- Be prepared for class daily, and keep up with the work assigned both in and out of class.
- No cell phone usage unless otherwise stated. Cell phones should ALWAYS be set to silent and put away. Phones seen or heard will be confiscated and returned at the end of the day.
- If you know you are going to be absent, speak to Ms. Lewis before hand in order to get the materials you will be missing.
- If you are unexpectedly absent, be sure to both check Schoology for a list of classroom events and resources, as well as email Ms. Lewis as soon as possible for basic instruction. [email protected]
- There is no “extra credit”. Do your work and do not ask.
- Late work will be accepted within three days of the due date at a reduced grade of 60% for A work.
